Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.
A History filled
History of Beta Nu
The Beta Nu Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi was founded as the first Professional Fraternity at the University of Pennsylvania in 1932. It was the 58th Chapter to be chartered, 25 years after the International Fraternity began at New York University.
In the mid 1960’s, the Chapter suffered a period of small membership and ultimately became dormant. Beta Nu was rechartered in 1987, when an ambitious group of Wharton men and women sought to return the Chapter to its previous standing on campus.
Over the next two decades, Beta Nu has consistently grown in membership, diversity, and accomplishment. After their time as collegiate brothers, many of Beta Nu’s alumni have gone on to lead many of the world’s most prominent banks, tech ventures, and entertainment companies.
Since the chapter’s founding, nearly 1000 undergraduate students and Wharton faculty members have been initiated into the Chapter. Today’s collegiate brothers of Beta Nu look to forever continue our chapter’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, social activity, and community service.
